Death Stranding Coming to PlayStation 4 on November 8th
Death Stranding, the much-awaited sci-fi action title from Metal Gear series creator Hideo Kojima, is scheduled for release worldwide on the PlayStation 4 on November 8th. This information was confirmed in the game’s latest trailer.
The trailer revealed more story and gameplay footage, including new characters set to appear in the game. Among those introduced were Mama, voiced by Margaret Qualley, Heartman, voiced by Nicolas Winding Refn, Die-Hardman, voiced by Tommie Earl Jenkins, Higgs, voiced by Troy Baker, and Amelie, voiced by Lindsay Wagner.
More of the game’s features were seen in the trailer. The first is a highly-advanced motorbike that players can use to travel across the vast island where the game takes place.
A few of the tools players will use throughout the game include a climbing anchor and a portable ladder. The former allows the player to rappel down to lower areas by latching the anchor onto a rope.
The portable ladder, meanwhile, is used for reaching higher areas, like when climbing mountains.
Footage of combat in Death Stranding was also shown in the latest video, including enemies the player will encounter throughout the game. Players can engage foes using bare-handed combat or with various weapons. Enemies in the trailer appeared to be equipped with the same level of technological tools as the players.
An interesting scene in the video was where the player is transported into a battle taking place during what seems to be the first world war. It is unknown if time travel will be a regular mechanic in the game or if it will only be implemented in one section of the game’s story.
