Here is a breakdown of the battle strategies against the boss:

Setup Strategy to Focus on Healing

Before engaging the boss, set your party strategy to “Focus on Healing”. AI-controlled party members will still deal damage but will change their focus to using healing artes or consuming HP items to recover HP.

Carry HP and CP Recovery Items

In addition, bring a stock of HP and CP recovery items. These items can be bought from accessible shopkeepers or acquired from normal Zeugles as drop items. Include Life Bottles in your supply and keep CP sustained in order to cast healing artes.

Equip accessories that resist Earth Damage and Poison Status

Furthermore, you can equip characters with accessories that can decrease Earth elemental damage as well as resist Poison status. Some attacks of the boss can inflict this status making your party members vulnerable to additional damage.

Evade and Block Attacks

Poisonous Sludge	Evade the poison sludge and don’t step on sludges on the ground. If you get inflicted, use Recover or a Panacea to remove the Poison status.
Tentacle Whip	Don’t stay at the front of the boss and dodge backward or sideways.
Tentacle Spike	Leave your spot and find an open space where you can dodge multiple times.
Tectonic Eruption	Leave your spot by dodging sideways to avoid getting hit.
Tectonic Wave	Get away from the boss when it slams the ground using its tentacles. Then, anticipate the waves and jump/dodge. If you get inflicted, use Recover or a Panacea to remove the Paralysis status.
Power-Up Mode	Don’t stay still and be more mobile. Also, confuse and bait the attacks from the boss to let the boost expire. Keep party member’s HP full or sustained in case that they’ll get hit.

Activate Boost Attacks

Complement your normal and artes with Boost Attacks. Alphen and Shionne’s boost attacks are highly effective against the boss.
