Cooking is an optional but essential activity in Tales of Arise. Cooking meals and dishes will add additional effects to your party especially when you’re out in the field and fighting enemy Zeugles. Not only that, some meals increase the number of items of materials you will obtain from collection points.

Getting Prepared
Here are essential activities you need to do before cooking meals of dishes:
Acquire Cooking Recipes
Apart from the pre-order DLC, you can obtain cooking recipes from collection points like blue chests. You can also get recipes from general stores.
Get Cooking Materials or Ingredients
In addition to recipes, you also need to obtain the required materials or ingredients from the collection points in the overworld.
Similarly, you can buy them from shopkeepers or general stores. Some shops are located outside cities. They will be marked on your map once you discover them.
Where to Cook Meals or Dishes
Once you have the recipe and ingredients, you can now cook dishes. Find an inn or a campsite to start cooking. You will not be disturbed by enemies when you cook meals at a campsite.

Once you picked a dish, check its effect on your party. Effects can range between stat boosts or item farming boosts.

Watch a Skit by the Cook
After choosing your recipe and cook, just watch the character skit. The experience is similar to watching skits.
Take note of the Meal Effect Duration
After consuming a meal or dish, the meal effect and bonus will be permanent. A timer will be shown on your screen letting you know when will the effects will expire. Also, a meal symbol is shown as a hunger meter that will indicate if you need to consume another meal again.
