Here is a breakdown of the battle strategies against the boss:

Setup Strategy to Focus on Healing

Before engaging the boss, set your party strategy to “Focus on Healing”. AI-controlled party members will still deal damage but will change their focus to using healing artes or consuming HP items to recover HP.

Carry HP and CP Recovery Items

In addition, bring a stock of HP and CP recovery items. These items can be bought from accessible shopkeepers or acquired from normal Zeugles as drop items. Include Life Bottles in your supply and keep CP sustained in order to cast healing artes.

Target Weakpoint

Switch your attack target to the weak spot of the boss in order to core break it. The weak point is the boss’ tail tip. Don’t attack all-out and leave room for evasion and blocking.

Use any Ground-based and Aerial-based artes

Toxidillo has no elemental weaknesses so feel free to choose any damaging artes. Just make sure you have a diverse set of artes that can deal damage from the ground as well as from the air.

Evade and Block Attacks

While damaging the boss, it will also execute its attacks against your party:

Rolling Charge Attack	If the boss glows in red, get ready to dodge the attack. When it recovers to its normal stance, attack the tail tip using normal attacks or artes.
Drop Attack	When you see the boss curl up and does not move, get ready to dodge from one spot to another.
Continuous Charge Attack	If the boss glows in red, get ready to dodge the attack multiple times. When it recovers to its normal stance, attack the tail tip using normal attacks or artes.
Toxic Fountain	When you see the boss curl up and does not move again, get away from the boss and let the poisonous mucus ran out before attacking again. Let Shionne deal damage for a while. If you get inflicted, use Recover or a Panacea to remove the Poison status.
Power-Up Mode	Don’t stay still and be more mobile. Also, confuse and bait the attacks from the boss to let the boost expire. Keep party member’s HP full or sustained in case that they’ll get hit.

Activate Boost Attacks

Complement your normal and artes with Boost Attacks. Alphen and Shionne’s boost attacks are highly effective against the boss.

Blazing Sword: Burning Wave	Make use of Alphen’s “Blazing Sword: Burning Wave” as your initiating Boost attack when it’s available. Not only that it will down the boss, but it will also open you for follow-up boost attacks. In addition, it boosts Alphen damage.
Wing Clip	Utilize Shionne’s “Wing Clip” when the boss is about to jump and attempt a drop attack. You can also use it as follow-up damage to Alphen’s boost attack.
