1	Croaka Cola	Forest Maze Path: On the left side of the path immediately after entering the area.
2	Frog Coin	Forest Maze Path: After emerging from the first underground passage, stand northwest of the large tree stump and jump up.
3	“Bad Luck” (None)	Forest Maze Path: In the area with 5 tree stumps, drop down the one to the west. Then, move northwest of the springboard in the underground passage and jump up.
4	Flower	Forest Maze Path: In the area with 5 tree stumps, drop down the one to the east. Then, move west of the springboard in the underground passage and jump up.
5	Croaka Cola	Forest Maze Path: In the area with 5 tree stumps, drop down the one to the farthest one to the northwest. Then, move west of the springboard in the underground passage until you reach the end (a Wiggler sometimes sleeps here). Jump up (from behind the Wiggler if it is here) to find the chest.
6	Red Essence	Forest Maze Path: Near the entrance of the area with the save point, go south and jump up.

1	Frog Coin	Pipe Vault (Second Pipe): In the area with multiple pipes lined up (most of them will have Smilax coming out of them), enter the second one just after the one you came from. In the next area, jump up next to the yellow ledge to make an invisible yellow platform appear. Jump on it to reach the yellow ledge and move forward a bit. Jump up to find the first Hidden Chest.
2	Frog Coin	Pipe Vault (Second Pipe): In the same area as the first Hidden Chest, just move forward again along the yellow ledge to find a second Hidden Chest after the first.

1	Frog Coin	Booster Tower: Go up the stairs where there are Blue Snifsters coming down one after the other. Just before the exit to the next area, walk back near the wall and jump up to find the Hidden Chest.
2	Frog Coin	Booster Tower: After launching yourself to an upper level using the Thwomp, walk along to the left of the narrow ledge and jump up to find the Hidden Chest.
3	Goodie Bag	Booster Tower: From the room with the save point just before Booster’s room, jump on the yellow platforms to reach the floating chest above. Jump to land on the floating chest and jump again to find the Hidden Chest.
4	Mushroom	Booster Tower: In the same room, walk southeast from the save point until you hit the wall. Then, jump up to find the Hidden Chest.

Land’s End

1	Red Essence	Land’s End: From the save point, jump inside the cannon and launch yourself up to the area with the moving yellow platform. Get on the platform and jump up to find the Hidden Chest.
2	Croaka Cola	Lands’ End: The next Hidden Chest can also be obtained by launching yourself from another cannon in the next area. First, launch yourself across the gap and on to the mountain level with the hole (do not drop down form it as enemies will appear). Then, have your back behind the hole and jump up to reveal a moving yellow platform above. Afterwards, launch yourself from the cannon again so you land on the moving yellow platform. Ride it until you can drop down on the highest level of the mountain. After doing so, walk on the edge of the mountain on the left and jump up to find the Hidden Chest.
3	Frog Coin	Land’s End: Once you reach the next save point, go right to find three blue flowers lined up. Jump on the middle one and jump again towards the next one to your right to hit the Hidden Chest above.
4	Frog Coin	Land’s End: Move to the end of the underground passage and jump up from the corner to the north to find the Hidden Chest.

2	Frog Coin	Nimbus Castle: From the hall with three doors, go in the room on the left. Then, move forward go through another door. In the next room, move forward again and down the stairs. Just stop in front of the exit ahead and jump to find the Hidden Chest.
3	Frog Coin	Nimbus Castle: In the same area where you found the previous Hidden Chest, move to the darkened space of the area to the left. Then, jump up to find the Hidden Chest.
4	Frog Coin	Nimbus Castle: In the hall with three doors again, approach the door on the left. Then, walk to the corner next to the birdcage and jump to find the Hidden Chest.
5	Frog Coin	Nimbus Castle: After defeating Birdo, head to the hall with three doors again. Then, take the door in the middle. Go through another door to reach the next room. In the next room, jump on the floating chest and jump again to find the Hidden Chest.

The Signal Ring is an accessory that makes a distinct sound whenever you are near a Hidden Chest. It is one of the most useful items in the game, especially for new players who have never played the original version Super Mario RPG.

Obtained from the Mushroom elder in Mushroom Kingdom.

You can get the Signal Ring in Super Mario RPG Remake by talking to the Mushroom elder at the basement of the item shop in Mushroom Kingdom.

Simply go through the tutorial on Hidden Chests. Afterwards, the old Mushroom lady will reward you with the Signal Ring.

The Echo Signal Ring is an improved version of the Signal Ring. In addition to alerting you of Hidden Chests nearby, it the Echo Signal Ring also tells you the exact number of them found in the room you are in.

Dropped by Croco in Nimbus Castle.

The Echo Signal Ring is dropped by Croco at Nimbus Castle during Mario and his allies’ hunt for the sixth Star Piece. It is obtained fairly late in the game so you will likely be relying on the Signal Ring to locate Hidden Chests (apart from using a guide) for most of the game.
