Tips to Beat Punchinello (Boss Rematch)
  • Use Geno Boost to buff attack and defense.
  • Time your normal attack and defense Action Commands well.
  • Save FP for Peach to heal or revive fallen party members.
  • Stock up on healing items.

Use Geno Boost to buff attack and defense.

Start the fight by having Geno set up Geno Boost to increase the attack and defense of allies. You will mostly be relying on normal attacks to deal with Rematch Punchinello and the Bob-ombs he summons.

Time your normal attack and defense Action Commands well.

Be sure to time your normal attack Action Commands well when attacking the Bob-ombs that Punchinello surrounds himself with during the fight. This allows you to whittle away at the boss’ health when the adds are around.

It is also recommended to time your defense to avoid having any of your allies instantly knocked out from Punchinello’s single-target attacks.

Save FP for Peach to heal or revive fallen party members.

You are almost always likely to lose one or more party members if multiple Bob-ombs target your team instead of Punchinello himself. The chance of any ally getting downed is increased once Punchinello uses Firewall to attack the whole party or if he hits an ally with a direct strike. Be sure Peach (or even Mallow) has enough FP to work with to keep the team alive throughout the fight.

Stock up on healing items.

It is not unlikely for Peach herself to get knocked out, forcing you to resort to items to manage the party’s HP or revive those that have been incapacitated. Do not hesitate to bring as many Pick Me Ups as the fight can get very difficult right from the beginning.
