How to Beat Belome (First Battle) Guide for Super Mario RPG Remake

Strategy to Beat Belome
  • Equip accessories that negate status ailments.
  • Prepare a lot of recovery items.

Equip accessories that negate status ailments.

Belome is a boss that mainly focuses on applying status ailments such as sleep and scarecrow. You can avoid the sleep status ailments by equipping your party members with the Trueform Pin, which can be obtained in the Kero Sewers. Note that there are accessories, specifically the Safety Badge and Safety Ring, which can completely negate all status ailments.

Prepare a lot of recovery items.

During the boss fight, Belome will eat Mallow, which will remove him temporarily from the battlefield. You will not have access to any healing skills if Mallow is not on the field. Therefore, you must prepare a lot of recovery items for you to survive the boss fight.

Belome (First Battle) Skills and Moveset

S’crow Funk

An attack that turns a single target into a scarecrow. Characters that turned into scarecrows won’t be able to use some actions. Equip the Trueform Pin to get immunity against this attack.

Sleep-sauce

This attack can put a single target to sleep. Equip an accessory that prevents sleep to counter this attack.

Best Party Setup and Equipment

Best Characters

  • Mario – Physical damage dealer, deals huge damage to the boss.
  • Mallow – Has access to lightning attacks, which is the boss’ weakness.

Mario and Mallow are the only ones available in this boss fight. Since Belome will eat Mallow during the battle, keep using Mario’s Jump Attack until the boss spits out Mallow. Once Mallow is back, use his Thunderbolt skill to defeat the boss.

Best Equipment

  • Trueform Pin – gives immunity against transformation attacks.
  • Any accessory that prevents status ailments

Belome has the ability to turn your party members into scarecrows. Therefore, equipping the Trueform Pin on your characters will be ideal in this boss fight. If you have an accessory that can prevent sleep, equip it on your characters as well, since the boss can also use an attack that inflicts sleep status.
