- Have sleep resistance.
- Exploit Belome’s weakness to lightning damage.
- Exploit Belome’s vulnerability to Mute.
- Use multi-target skills when Belome creates a clone.
Have sleep resistance.
Rematch Belome will regularly try to put one of your party members to sleep. Because of this, it is recommended to equip essential support characters like Peach Mallow with the Safety Badge or Safety Ring. Otherwise, prepare for an annoying fight which is likely to end badly for your team due to occasional inactivity.
Use lightning attacks on Belome.
Mallow will take center stage for dealing damage to Belome during the rematch as the boss is weak to lightning. Save some FP for Mallow to use Shocker whenever his turn comes. Just be sure Peach has enough of the resource to cast Group Hug during emergencies.
Apply Mute on Belome whenever you can.
You can save your team the trouble of having to deal with Belome’s most worrying attacks by having Peach inflict Mute on the boss. This is particularly useful for shutting down Belome’s ability to put any of your allies to sleep if they do not have any gear to resist the status.
Attack Belome and the clone with multi-target attacks.
You will want Mario, Mallow, and Geno to use burst down the clone that Rematch Belome summons using a strong multi-target skill (like Mario’s Ultra Fireball and Mallow’s Shocker) so that it also hits the boss himself.
Avoid ignoring the copy during the fight as it essentially means the enemy team has two turns on their side to pester and attack you during the fight.
What are Boss Rematch Battles?
Post-game battles against enhanced versions of various story bosses.
Boss Rematch battles are special battles that allow you to fight more powerful versions of certain story bosses after beating the game. These post-game bosses have increased HP, damage output, and have brand new moves that make them even more challenging to take down than their weaker counterparts.
How to Unlock Boss Rematch Battles
Head to Marrymore Hotel after beating the game to begin Boss Rematch battles.
To begin the post-game Rematch Battles, head to the Marrymore Hotel after getting the Stay Voucher from Toad. Spending the night at the hotel will then trigger new story events that lets you return to previous areas to battle enhanced versions of bosses in the game.
