How to remove Down (Instant Death) status in Super Mario RPG

Down is a status effect that can be dealt both to your party and enemies in Super Mario RPG Remake (2023).

What are the features of Down status

Character is incapacitated when HP becomes 0.

When a party member is taken down, it will no longer participate in battle after its zero reaches 0. In addition, the downed or instant death character can’t be healed and unable to use special moves.

A high risk condition.

A single downed party member is still workable since you can revive it during normal and boss battles. However, if all party members are eliminated either through loss of HP, mortal blow, or instant death, the game will immediately result to a game over. Prevent this by wearing anti-instant death armor specifically for Peach who specializes in healing and status recovery moves.

Cure Down by ending the battle.

Any status effects will expire after three turns with the exception of Down or Instant Death. If Peach is not active in your party and you don’t have a supply of revive items, it is advisable finish the encounter quickly or run away instead.
