How to Beat Mack Guide for Super Mario RPG Remake

Focus your attacks on the boss.
Mack has the ability to summon allies onto the battlefield. Once all of his allies are defeated, he will summon them again after a few turns. With the use of Mallow’s Thunderbolt, you can deal damage to both Mack and his allies at the same time. With that being said, you can let Mario focus his attacks on the boss or make him use items to recover HP and FP.
Use Lightning attacks
Mack is particularly weak to Lightning attacks. As a result, the lightning skill that Mallow possesses will prove to be very useful in this battle. The Thunderbolt skill inflicts significant damage not just on Mack but also on his summoned allies. Because of this, it is strongly suggested that you spend your FP on Mallow’s skill rather than Mario’s.
Mack Skills and Moveset
Flame
A single-target fire attack that the boss uses. If you take huge damage from this attack, you might want to grind some levels to increase your HP and magic defense.
Flame Wall
This attack deals damage both to Mario and Mallow. Despite being able to damage all the members of your party, this attack does not deal much damage.
Shy Guy Summoning
A single-target fire attack that can be used by Mack’s allies. If all of them are alive, this attack will be used multiple times in just one turn. Therefore, it is highly recommended to defeat them as soon as possible.
Best Party Setup and Equipment
Best Characters
- Mario – Has high attack power and can deal damage without consuming FP.
- Mallow – Can inflict damage on both Mack and his allies.
Mario and Mallow are the only ones you can use in this boss fight. It is recommended to spend your FP on Mallow’s Thunderbolt skill and let Mario fight mainly with normal attacks. Note that you can improve the effects of your special skills by leveling up.
Best Equipment
- Shirt – Increases your defense and reduces damage from enemies.
- Pants – Increases your defense and reduces damage from enemies.
Buy the equipment listed above to reduce the damage you take from Mack and his allies. These items can be bought from the Tool Shop before going to Bandit’s Way.

Weakness
Mack is weak against lightning attacks. When hit with a lightning attack for the first time, it will stun him for a moment, making him lose a turn. Use lightning attacks as much as possible to defeat the boss’ allies quickly. Doing this will make it easier to deal with Mack and reduce the damage you take during the boss fight.
Location
The boss fight will occur in the Mushroom Kingdom. Note that there are items that can be acquired within the kingdom.
