Super Mario RPG Remake - How to Cure Sleep Status

How to remove Sleep status in Super Mario RPG

Sleep is a status effect that can be inflicted both to your party and enemies in Super Mario RPG Remake (2023).

What are the features of Sleep status

Inability to act during a turn.

Party members inflicted by Sleep status are not available for commands during a battle and are immobile and vulnerable to lethal attacks. The Sleep status will last until the afflicted party member is attacked by physical attacks or cured by items or skills. Also, the Sleep status effect expires after 3 turns.

A high risk condition.

Although there is no damage received by the affected party member, enemies can exploit this status by targeting damage dealers like Mario or healers like Peach. This will ruin your playstyle and setups especially on boss battles.

Also, magical attacks from enemies can hurt the party member under Sleep status. They will not wake up and continue to be helpless during a battle.

Cure Sleep by receiving damage from enemies.

Sleep status will be removed immediately if the afflicted party member is hit by an enemy. This applies also when the party member is inflicted by Sleep by the first enemy and damaged by second enemy in the same enemy turn.

Cure Sleep by letting the abnormal status expire.

Any status effects, including Sleep, will expire after three turns with the exception of Down. If Peach is not active in your party and you don’t have a supply of recovery items, the afflicted party members would still survive after 3 turns.
