Benefits of Party
Can join up to 3 characters in battle.
In the Super Mario RPG, it is allowed to play along with 2 other character. Mario is the only character that is permanent and cannot be removed from the party.
You can change the characters you want to play with along with Mario in the main menu or it can be switched whenever in a town or dungeon. Players can also try different playable characters in the party if there are having a difficult time in the battle, they can try out party members that goes well with Mario.
Gain EXP even out of combat.
The other characters that aren’t in the party also gains experience points and they also level up. Even if they are on the standby, you can always easily change up the party members.
