Curtain Hiding Mini Game Guide for Super Mario RPG Remake
What is the Curtain Hiding Mini Game?
The Curtain Hiding mini game in Super Mario RPG Remake occurs once you reach Booster Tower during the hunt for the fourth Star Piece. This optional event requires you to hide from Booster and his gang of Snifsters behind some curtains.
Super Mario RPG Remake Fourth Star Piece Walkthrough
If you succeed in hiding from the Snifsters as they open each curtain, you will be able to skip the boss battle against Booster and obtain the useful Amulet accessory from him.
Note that you get a total of three (3) tries to avoid getting caught. Once you have used up all the allowable attempts, Booster will immediately attack your party, preventing you from getting the unique reward for the optional event.
Curtain Mini Game Mechanics
The mechanics of the Curtain Hiding mini game are simple. Just stand avoid standing behind a curtain that a Snifster will open so you do not get caught.
As you progress through the mini game unseen, Booster will order another Snifster to join the previous one in searching the curtains. The pace of the Snifsters moving to a new curtain also gets faster the more they get frustrated for not finding you.
All in all, prepare to hide from three Snifsters opening three of the four curtains in the room.
Round | No. of Snifsters | Number of Actions |
---|---|---|
1 | 1 | 5 |
2 | 2 | 7 |
3 (Final) | 3 | 6 |
Tips to Clear the Curtain Hiding Mini Game
Save before proceeding with the event.
Be sure to save your game in the area just before the room with curtains so you can retry if you fail the event three times. It is highly recommended to be able to complete the side event instead of fighting Booster as the item he gives is extremely useful during middle up to even post-game battles.
Watch out for feints.
The Snifsters will start to feint or fake their actions further into the mini game which can cause you to hide behind the wrong curtain. Stay calm and be ready to move to another curtain even after you see any of the Snifsters stand in front of one. They will, however, not be able to feint their action twice, though more than one Snifster can fake you out.
Hiding from the Snifster’s final attempt at the curtains.
The sixth and last attempt of the three-Snifster team has the minions running around which may confuse you on where they will go. As a general rule, they will never open the one curtain below where the Mario Doll is so stand there to clear the mini game.
Booster himself will be the one to open the curtain you are hiding behind, though he will be distracted by the Mario Doll finally appearing before him.
