Game Difficulty Guide for Super Mario RPG Remake
Choose between two (2) types of difficulty.
Unlike the original game, Super Mario RPG Remake lets you choose between two (2) different types of difficulty at the start of the game. These are the Breezy and Normal difficulty modes.
List of All Difficulty Modes
Difficulty | Details |
---|---|
Breezy | Battles are easier in this mode. Choose this if you want to quickly progress the story. |
Normal | Battles are balanced normally in this mode. Play this if you want to enjoy a challenge. |
Breezy Mode
Breezy Mode is intended for players who simply want to enjoy the game’s story. Battles are much easier thanks to significant changes in gameplay such as leveling up, Action Command mechanics, and strength of enemies encountered.
Playing on Breezy also allows you to hold more items which means that it is possible to stockpile a lot more healing items for increased survivability in battle.
Does not affect the main story.
As confirmed in the remake, playing on either Breezy or Normal difficulty does not have any affect on the story. This means that you will not miss out any obtainable items and equipment, events, and other content regardless of the game mode you choose at the start.
Can You Change the Difficulty?
Difficulty can be changed anytime during play.
You can change the game difficulty at any time while going through the main story. This means that you can simply lower the difficulty level if you are find yourself stuck on a boss you cannot defeat on Normal.
Super Mario RPG Remake Permanent Events and Missables
Lower the difficulty to level up fast.
Since there are no consequences to changing the difficulty, you can temporarily play on Breezy to level up characters faster. Once you are ready to continue with the main story, just adjust it back to Normal mode again.
