Poison is a status effect that can be inflicted both to your party and enemies in Super Mario RPG Remake (2023).

What are the features of Poison status

Deals damage over time.

Party members inflicted by Poison status will continue to receive damage for every turn. The damage dealt by the status effect is 10% of the afflicted character’s overall HP. Therefore, the less HP you have, the lesser the damage you will take.

A low risk condition.

Since Poison inflicts slight damage, you have the option not to cure the abnormal status immediately.

Muku Cookie is a limited item that can only be acquired from Seaside Town before clearing the Sunken Ship. Despite the great healing and recovery benefits, the item is only suggested to use while Peach is not an active party member in the battle or during emergency situations.

Peach’s Therapy and Group Hug special moves are your go-to skills to restore lost health and cure abnormal statuses. Since the FP consumption is minimal, it is preferred to use this skill as often as you can before relying to recovery items.

Cure Poison by letting the abnormal status expire.

Any status effects, including Poison, will expire after three turns with the exception of Down. If Peach is not active in your party and you don’t have a supply of recovery items, the afflicted party members would still survive after 3 turns.

End the battle as quickly as possible in order to cleanse the Poison abnormal status from your afflicted party members. You can also run away from the battle to remove the status effects.
