Sunken Ship Password Puzzles Guide for Super Mario RPG Remake
Sunken Ship Door Password Mini Games
In Super Mario RPG Remake, the password to enter the locked area in the Sunken Ship where King Calamari is can only be obtained by clearing six puzzle rooms in the dungeon. You will have a limited number of attempts to solve some of the puzzles, though you can just exit and re-enter the room to reset your tries until you solve each of them.
Super Mario RPG Remake Fifth Star Piece Walkthrough
As you clear each puzzle room, a memo left behind by previous explorers of the Sunken Ship will drop on the floor which contains a clue on the password to open the locked door.
First Puzzle
The first puzzle requires you to guide the Paratroopa into carrying an iron ball which must be dropped on the switch above. The memo containing the first clue will then drop on the floor (There is an “s” in the word).
Second Puzzle
The second puzzle requires you to position the moving trampolines so that the iron ball that drops from the left side bounces off of them and lands on the switch above.
Hit the J blocks to stop trampolines from moving so that they are positioned with just the right distance from each other to make the iron ball tumble all the way to the platform with the switch . This puzzle may take some trial-and-error but should not be to difficult to clear.
After clearing the mini game, another memo containing the second clue will then drop on the floor (It is found on the bed of the ocean). You also get a Flower for solving the puzzle.
Third Puzzle
The third puzzle requires you to reach the switch at the top of the structure. While this may sound simple, there are several walls inside the structure that you will not be able to see as you enter it.
You can check your position and number of steps with the X button. Feel out the path by using the Confirm and Jump buttons until you reach the switch at the top.
After clearing the mini game, another memo containing the third clue will then drop on the floor (It has two vowels). You also get a Royal Syrup for solving the puzzle.
Fourth Puzzle
The fourth puzzles requires you to follow a floating coin that will spawn more coins as you catch up to it. Be sure to grab the spawn coins as well before they disappear to clear the puzzle.
After clearing the mini game, another memo containing the fourth clue will then drop on the floor (It is very valuable).
Fifth Puzzle
The fifth puzzle requires you to use cannonballs fired from each cannon (starting from the leftmost one) to hit the J blocks of in front of the cannon next to it and so on. This is mostly a test of your timing which should not be too difficult to clear.
After clearing the mini game, another memo containing the fifth clue will then drop on the floor (“It” is actually a “they”). You also get a Mushroom for solving the puzzle.
Sixth Puzzle
The sixth and final puzzle requires you to have both switches pressed down. Move to the right side of the room where the barrels are stacked and look for one of them that has a darker colored than the rest (facing the front of the stack of barrels correctly, it is in the middle stack, in the front at the very top).
Jump on barrel to drop it down the stack. Then, jump on it repeatedly until you can roll it on the switch on the right side of the room. Afterwards, step on the switch on the left side to clear the puzzle.
After clearing the mini game, another memo containing the sixth clue will then drop on the floor (The “R” comes before the “L”). You also get a Mushroom for solving the puzzle.
Entering the Password (P-E-A-R-L-S)
Head to the locked door and hit the J boxes to enter all six letters of the password which is actually the word PEARLS. After inputting the password, examine the pipe to unlock the door.
