Ability Values Growth Guide
Character Base Ability Values
Characters have base ability values that are independent of the bonuses and reductions granted by equipping a style. This means that a character’s actual ability values are a combination of their base ability values and the style ability values.
Actual ability values are determined by the chosen style.
A character’s base ability values do not change regardless of which style is selected. The chosen style, however, will affect the base ability to determine the character’s actual stats.
The style ability value modifiers applied to the base ability values of a character can be seen in the style menu. Blue upward-pointing arrows next to the style stat modifier indicate an increase in the actual stats while red means a decrease.
How to Raise Base Ability Values
Clearing quests and challenges increases a character’s base ability values. This usually requires you to run battles multiple times.
Going on expeditions also allows you to raise the base ability values of characters. You will also get style experience and items this way. Note that it is also possible for characters to do battle even when on expeditions for them to gain base stat increases more efficiently.
Raising Style Level
Unlike base ability values, style stats are increased by leveling up styles. This is done by allocating style experience. Style stats will then apply modifiers to a character’s base ability values, resulting in the character’s actual stats.
As an example, a character’s actual strength ability value is computed as the base strength ability value x style modifier +4 style level up bonus.
Base Stat Growth Based on Equipped Style
The equipped style also affects the growth value of a character’s base ability values. These are indicated again as blue upward pointing arrows next to a character’s stats.

An S rank Katarina style, for instance, will grant Katarina a better intelligence growth rate than the SS rank one. The SS rank Katarina, meanwhile, is preferred if you want to focus on raising the strength stat.
