Game Overview

What is Days Gone?

Days Gone is an open world, action-adventure, survival horror game where players must face hordes of zombies called Freakers. Unlike typical zombies found in mainstream survival horror games, Freakers are often encountered in large groups and are extremely agile, forcing players to quickly adapt to various dangerous situations in the game.

Gameplay

Days Gone employs third-person action gameplay, including the use of stealth to complete various objectives. Things like weather and time also constantly change and affect the behavior of enemies encountered. For example, Freakers are considerably weaker and slower during the day but are fast and aggressive at night.

Story

Set in a post-apocalyptic open world, Days Gone follows the story of Deacon St. John as he fights for his life across zombie-populated locations. These zombies were caused by a global pandemic two years before the events of the game. The majority of humans have either been killed by the catastrophe or have turned into mindless zombies called Freakers.

Freakers

Freakers are zombie-like creatures born from the globlal pandemic that purged nearly all of humanity. They are described as mindless creatures that are “quickly evolving.” Freakers are not limited to humans, as the E3 2017 demo revealed that various animals have also been infected with the mysterious condition.
