Noel Attacks

Noel Attacks is an event that consists of 20 levels. Each time you climb the ladder, the boss’ health and attack will increase. In some levels, the boss’ attack patterns and resistances will also change.

Make use of Blunt attacks

Regardless of the level, the boss remains weak to blunt attacks. That being said, form a team of styles that make use of fists and clubs to have some consistent damage.

Have STR Debuffers

Noel relies on melee attacks and is prone to STR debuff skills. You can help the party withstand the onslaught by reducing Noel’s attacks with skills like Submission and Bonecrusher.

Inflict Confusion

Noel is prone to confusion, sleep, and charm. Among the three, confusion is the most effective since it costs less BP. In other words, your jammer gets more value out of using confusion over other status effects.

Boss Stats

Noel has only +30 resist which makes him susceptible to confusion. He tends to retaliate with Counter after being attacked. The blunt attribute skill’s damage can be reduced by improving your defenses using certain gear. Form a team consisting of styles that have many STR Debuffs.

Boss Stats

Noel’s attacks change from normal to slash attribute. Opt to improve your resistances by stacking armor that raise each of your style’s slash resistance for survivability. The boss also makes use of vertical line attacks which means that formations like Rapid Stream won’t be much viable this time around.

After reaching level 16, Noel will start cycling non-melee attacks with his standard movepool which will ignore the slash defenses.

A great formation to have from levels 16 and up is the Rising Phoenix which lowers hate from other styles. Below is a list of styles, their potential roles, and recommended slots.

The party takes advantage of Rising Phoenix, a formation with a great chance of forcing the enemy to attack the defender on the first slot. Choose a defender and assign him to parry each time it becomes usable. Other styles should focus on debuffing the boss’ STR while the defender weathers the storm. After reducing Noel’s attacks significantly, the debuffers can join the attackers in unleashing a powerful overdrive combo to pull through.
