The Return of Island Challenges
The first to be shown among the Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon new features is the continuation of Island Challenges from Sun and Moon. It is fair to expect some new Trials in the upcoming game, and maybe even new Trial Captains and Island Kahunas to make their debut.

Mina was the only Trial Captain on Poni island in Pokemon Sun and Moon, though she does not officially grant the player her Trial in the game. As another of the Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon new features, Mina will be allowing the player to go through her Trial. Whether it will have a connection to her affinity with Fairy-type Pokemon remains to be seen in the game.
Alolan Photo Club

The Alolan Photo Club is an interesting social mechanic to be introduced as another of the Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon new features. Shown in the trailer, the Alolan Photo Club will allow players to take pictures of their adventures around Alola. They can then be shared with friends, and possibly on social media platforms. The trailer also reveals that players will be able to edit their photos with various stickers as a fun option in the game.
Mantine Surf

The Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon new features also include a new mini-game called Mantine Surf. Players will be able to use the Pokeride and surf the waters of Alola on Mantine. While riding the waves, players will be able to perform various tricks and stunts in the same vein as Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. The points accumulated in the mini-game might be used to purchase special items, though this is only speculated.
