Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon - How to Reset Effort Values: Guide

Sharing our guide on how to reset Effort Values (EV) in the newest installment of the Pokemon game series: Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon (USUM)

How to Reset Effort Values

Festival Plaza

To reset your Pokémon’s Effort Values (EVs) look for the Festival Plaza via the game menu. Once you enter the plaza, look for the two stalls named Friendship Parlor and Friendship Café.

To reset EVs, you need to purchase “Secret Meals,” available at both Friendship stalls. These meals are unlocked after the player’s Festival Plaza reaches rank 30 and they enter the Hall of Fame by defeating the Elite Four. If you enter the Friendship Parlor (Sun symbol), you can reset your Pokémon’s Hp, Atk, and Def stats with secret meals A, B, and C respectively. While at the Friendship Café (Moon symbol), you can reset your Pokémon’s Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, and Speed stats with secret meals D, E, and F respectively. Take note that you cannot reset effort values if a Pokemon’s happiness is at maximum.  A Pokemon’s happiness can be lowered by allowing them to faint in battle or by using some bitter medicines.

How to Lower Effort Values by Berries Only

Each corresponding stat can be lowered by using a specific berry. Apart from purchasing them in your Festival Plaza, you can look for them beneath the berry trees located throughout the Alola region.
