New UB and Lycanroc Base Stat Totals Revealed
According to leaks, the base stats and their totals for the new Ultra Beasts have been revealed along with the new Lycanroc form.
Base Stats are fixed values tied to each species/ Pokemon. These values range from a minimum of 1 to a maximum of 255. Stats can be split into 6 types: Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed. In most cases, Pokemon that have higher values perform better, however some Pokemon can take advantage of being slower in the presence of certain tactics such as speed control.
The sum of the Base Stats are the Base Stat Totals. In competitive play, Pokemon can be categorized in terms of the ranges of their Base Stat Totals. Although at first glance it seems that higher Base Stat Totals would suggest more viable Pokemon, players must also consider the Base Stat distributions when building a team.

UB: BURST, a part ghost, part fire-type Pokemon sports a fantastic 151 base Special Attack stat, placing it as the second highest Specially offensive Ultra Beast.
On the defensive side, it has lackluster 53 HP/ 53 Defense/ 79 Sp. Defense, which only beats Pheromosa’s pathetic defenses by a few points. This strips its potential to take a hit or two, making it vulnerable to most dark, ghost, ground, rock, and water type attacks. It shares the same type as Chandelure, however its advantages over the Luring Pokemon are better Special Attack and Speed stats.
The previous Video Game Championships lacked a number of viable fire-types, thus the introduction of UB: BURST might alter the roster of teams in need of Pokemon capable of taking out pesky bug, grass, steel, and ghost types.

The part rock, part steel type UB: ASSEMBLY boasts high 131 Attack and a gargantuan base 211 Defense. With this combination, it can sponge most physical damage and return a hefty amount of its own.
One of the downsides to using ASSEMBLY however is its measly base 13 Speed. As a result, it relies on having Trick Room up, a move that enables slower Pokemon to move first for a couple of turns. It also struggles against fighting types due to its dual typing.
ASSEMBLY can be compared to Aggron and Gigalith, the former has a similar type, while the latter was the Rock type Pokemon of choice for players opting to run Trick Room. There is no question that ASSEMBLY beats both in Defense and a respectable Attack. Its downsides include a vast number of weaknesses due to its typing and its sluggish speed leaving it open to a majority of the faster Pokemon that resist it.

Dusk Form Lycanroc is a special form of the Wolf Pokemon only obtainable upon evolving the gift Rockruff. It has better Attack stats than both forms at the cost of less speed than the Midday form.
Among the three forms, Dusk Form Lycanroc offense allows it to deal even more serious damage thanks to the new Z-move. With an added effect of removing terrain effects, players who have trouble dealing with guardian deities in battle should look into Dusk Form Lycanroc.
