Poke Bank
The Poke Bank (or Pokemon Bank) is a storage application that players can download for the 3DS. Players can download this application from the Nintendo eShop. Once installed, this app allows them to store up to 3000 pokemon on an online cloud system. The Poke Bank is compatible with Pokemon X and Y, Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, and Pokemon Sun and Moon. Currently, it’s now compatible with Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon.
When using this application, players can also use an application known as the Pocket Transporter. The Pocket Transporter is what allows players to transfer pokemon from Pokemon Black 2 and White 2. However, it’s not limited to those games. But players can even go as far as the remastered versions of Generation I pokemon.
But take note: using this application is subscription-based. Players must pay an annual fee of 500 yen, $4.99 (US) to continue using the app.
Important Updates:
- As of now, Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon can use the Pokebank.
- Once the player transfers pokemon from Omega Sapphire, Alpha Ruby, X, Y to Pokemon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon, it’s impossible to return them back to the game they came from.
- Only Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon can accommodate pokemon from Red, Blue, Green, Gold, and Silver from the virtual consoles.
Pokemon Bank is not compatible with the US versions of Ultra Sun/Moon yet.
