Boss and Mini-Boss Strategy
Monitoring the Trunk Gauge
Bosses in Sekiro have two gauges, their HP and their Posture. You can defeat a boss by whittling down their HP with your attacks. But if you want to be more efficient, take note of their Posture gauge. When the boss’ Posture gauge reaches a certain level, they will be vulnerable to more powerful attacks.
How to Increase Posture Gauge
Here are some ways for increasing the posture gauge:
- Having the boss block your attacks
- Guarding the boss’s attacks and counterattacking
- Attacking the boss
Generally, you would want to be on the offensive during battle to put pressure on them and thus lowering their Posture Gauge. However, be careful when going all out. If your attacks get blocked, your own Posture falls. As such, it is best to wait for your enemy to strike, dodge, and retaliate with a few slashes until their Posture Gauge is exhausted. After that, you can go in for a devastating attack.
