Following from the blueprint of Black 2 and White 2, the new forms for the Psychic type Prism Pokemon Necrozma shows its capability to capture the Game’s title Mascots allowing it to take on new forms! Ultra Sun players will get Dusk Mane Necrozma a result of capturing Solgaleo; while Ultra Moon players will receive Dawn Wings Necrozma, which is the equivalent for Lunala.

Ultra Sun and Moon Reveals: New Means to Choose a Starter

It seems that the game takes inspiration from previous titles namely Pokemon Ruby and Diamond where Trainers are ambushed by a wild Pokemon. This prompts them to choose their Starter immediately.

Ultra Sun and Moon Reveals: Explore the Pikachu Island

The trailer showcases a new destination where the Trainer is surrounded by multiple Pikachu. It shows the Male Trainer interacting with the Pikachu. This seems to be a reference to Pokemon Yellow and Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver. It may also allude to the Johto Remake’s Yellow Forest for the PokeWalker albeit not done on a pedometer.

Ultra Sun and Moon Reveals: A New Z-Move

To follow up on the reveal of the special Rockruff for early copy buyers entitles them to evolve it to a Dusk Form Lycanroc with a special Z-Move. As revealed from the recent showcase, this Bare Fang Pokemon is capable of unleashing its unique Z-Move Splintered Stormshards! Judging from the animation, it seems to hint that it must be a Rock-type Z-Move which looks to be a high-powered Power Gem.

Ultra Sun and Moon Reveals: New PokeRide

A glimpse of a new Pokeride also appears briefly during the Nintendo Direct Reveal. It showcases the Pokemon Mantine facing a Tourist on the coast of an unknown new beach area. The reveal seems to tie up with the upcoming release of Pokemon Gold and Silver for VC. Although whether it will replace the Lapras, Sharpedo, or not is still up to speculation.

Adding to the mix are 2 New Ultra Beasts each being exclusive depending on which version you pick. Ultra Sun players get to catch disco ball looking UB – Burst, while Ultra Moon players can snag the tower-like UB – Assembly. Further information is currently under investigation for these new species, and it may seem that Looker and Anabelle’s investigation might require even more research if they intend to track these down!

For Video Game Championships enthusiasts, Ultra Beasts were usually the staple choice Pokemon for Trainers participating in the 2017 Format because of their effective Beast Boost abilities. As a result, if TPCi decides to keep them for the upcoming format, the introduction of these new Ultra Beasts may shape the team compositions to come.

Ultra Sun and Moon Reveals: Customization Reveals

In comparison to the more hawaiian themed costumes for Sun and Moon, for Ultra Sun and Moon they will introduce additional Pokemon-themed customizations such as the Pikachu Cap to match the Pikachu shirt.

Ultra Sun and Moon Reveals: Digital Version Reward

For Trainers opting to purchase the Digital Version, they can claim 12 Quick Balls to aid them in their adventure.
