Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon - Possible Obtainable Darkrai: News

Based on examination of a leak of a Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon trading card pack, we can make the assumption that Darkrai could be obtainable.

Possible Obtainable Darkrai

The new TCG set for Ultra Sun and Moon highlights a very unsettling appearance of an old legendary from previous games. Ever since Darkrai’s debut in the Fourth generation, it has often avoided the eyes of Trainers. This raises the question: is Darkrai a legendary?

Trading Card Game Leak

Examining the foil art of the Trading Card Game Booster Pack, the 4 Guardians of Alola occupy the lower half of the foil. In front of them is Lycanroc with red glowing eyes. Since the games have Necrozma covering the light with darkness as it snatches the Mascots, we can liken this to Darkrai – the Pokemon above.

Its gesture seems to show that it will attempt to capture the Pokemon below. This bears a striking feature to Necrozma’s pose as it captures Sun and Moon’s mascots Solgaleo or Lunala.

Darkrai Event in Sun and Moon

Darkrai’s case sparks a lot of questions. Given that it did not appear in either of the above mentioned titles, trainers search for ways on how to obtain the pitch black creature. To recall, the recent titles offered Darkrai codes which came out on the early release of Pokemon Sun and Moon. Moreover, the trailer revealed the coming of the National Dex which may also hint that the upcoming games would likely offer another method to obtain it.

However, whether these speculations are related to the theme of Necrozma stealing the light is yet to be revealed. We will report more information when it comes out.

More Mythical Pokemon might return

Mythical Pokemon made an appearance in one way or another across various Pokemon games. In essence, these Pokemon have higher base stat totals than others. We can make a case for Pokemon Black 2 and White 2, where the Trainer was able to capture the Eons to name a few. This was a recurring feature found in later versions.

In the case of ORAS, multiple Legendary Pokemon from previous games returned. This expanded the roster count.

Mewtwo revealed

One of the revealed Mythical Pokemon is Mewtwo, as stated by the Game Freak Producer during the Famitsu interview. If this follows the blueprint of the past versions, this may imply that even more Mythical Pokemon will return.

To wrap things up, features like the legendary from ORAS made them free to players who lack access to the old copies of the game. On a side note, these Pokemon counted as allowed species for the 2016 Video Game Championships thanks to their origin marking.
