Speak with Yuna – Infiltrate the first keep of Castle Shimura

1 Approach the opening in the wall by going left from the gate leading to the bridge.
2 Follow the path down to the bridge and use the grapple hook on the big rock in the middle of the water. Use the fallen tree as a bridge before swinging onto the cliff ahead by the grapple hook on the anchor point.
3 Use the rope to go up the wall and follow the path. Jump over to the next cliff and use the rock handholds along the tree.
4 Climb up when you reach another anchor point. Go up another set of handholds and and swing across the to reach the next wall. From there, go up again.

Eliminate the Mongols in the first keep

1 Wait for the Mongol guard to stop before jumping through the broken window. Take him out.
2 In the next room, take cover behind a broken window again. Approach him for a quick kill when he turns to the window.
3 Head for the ladder now. Before going up, use Focused Hearing and wait until the Mongol guard move away from the ladder. Go up and get behind the wall and kill him when he stops by the window again.
4 Make your way to the other side of the roof by passing through the small window. Go up to the top floor and take out the two Mongols standing quite far apart from each other.

Survey the Mongol defense

1 Approach the edge of the balcony and assess the area below. Afterwards, drop down on the roof again and make your way to the garden.
2 Walk along the rope lines to prevent you from being spotted. Take out the archer near the tower and continue along the rope’s end.
3 Get down and wait until the guard moves away before moving through the opening in the fence.

Poison the Mongol’s fermented milk

1 Approach the stone wall by moving through the grass on you left. Take out the guard when he turns his back to leave.
2 Head for the tent’s roof by getting up on the bales next to it. From there, walk on the rope lines again to the next tent. Assassinate the archer standing just behind it.
3 Circle the tent take cover behind the stack of logs. Take out the guard when he comes near the logs and move toward the grass fence before the fermented milk supply.
4 When the guard turns his back, approach and hide in grass near the milk barrels. Turn your attention again to the guard and wait for him to walk past your location. When he moves away, approach the milk supply and apply the poison. Take cover again in the grass quickly.
5 Head for the next milk supply by using Focused Hearing. Watch for the timing when the guards turn around before applying the poison again.

Enter the keep to confront the Khan – Defeat Ryuzo

1 Go inside the keep. Climb up the stairs and prepare to battle Ryuzo.
2 The key to winning against Ryuzo is very similar to your previous encounter, though he will have more unblockable attacks this time in the form of chained slashes. As usual, go into Stone stance and wait for his straight sword thrust (telegraphed by him stretching his left arm toward you before dashing in forward with a stab). Parry it and follow up with three good strikes before going on the defensive again. Repeat the process while dodging his unguardable attacks to end the fight.

Strategy

Defeating Ryuzo

The thing to watch out for the most when fighting Ryuzo is the greatly enhanced range of his attacks, making rolling backwards quite risky. Despite this, his one-handed sword stab is still quite easy to parry, allowing you to accumulate Resolve during the fight. Having unlocked the Unyielding Sword Parry technique also gives you more opportunities to deflect his blade when he performs some of his unblockable attacks.
