Investigate the docks – Investigate the riverbank

1 After talking to Shino, make your way along the docks to the left of the hut and examine the half-eaten fish on the straw mat on the ground.
2 Walk a little ways to the left on the edge of the dock to find traces of blood. Examine it as well.
3 Follow the waypoint across the river to the small island with orange grass. Investigate the muddy shore when you arrive to find some tracks. Follow them by making a beeline to your right to find more tracks.

Track the kappa – Speak with Shino

1 Keep following the tracks along the shore leading to the next island. You will eventually stumble on a corpse near the water that you should examine.
2 Walk a little ways from the corpse toward the orange grass to find more tracks in the mud. Move toward the orange grass and follow the patches of land shaped like a path until you come to an intersection. Keep going straight from there past the path between the large rocks and you will reach a short wooden bridge. Continue along the muddy path as it bends to the left to find a bandit camp nearby,
3 Defeat the bandits and loot them to find the flute and return to Shino at the fishing hut.

Switch between Stone and Wind stance.

The bandits in the camp consist of two swordsmen and two spearmen. Use Stone stance on the swordsmen and Wind stance on the spear-wielding bandits to take them out quickly. They will not prove too troublesome as long as you pick them off one by one.
