What are Techniques?
Techniques are special skills that Jin and learn, upgrade, and use in battle as the Ghost. These can be viewed by going into the menu selecting Techniques.
Customizing Your Techniques
Acquire techniques based on your playstyle.
Customizing Jin’s set of Techniques will greatly impact your experience in combat against various enemies. Depending on your preference, you may choose to build him up as a formidable swordsman, a crafty assassin, or a balance of both.
How to Unlock Techniques
Techniques are unlocked by spending Technique Points. The required number of Technique points required to obtain and upgrade skills varies for each technique in the game.
How to Get Technique Points
Defeat enemies and do quests.
Technique Points are gained by defeating enemies and as reward for clearing various quests. One (1) Technique Points is obtained a bonus from purchasing the Ghost of Tsushima special, digital deluxe, or collector’s edition.
Using Techniques
Certain Techniques, particularly weapon-based ones, require the use of Resolve charges to perform. For instance, many of Jin’s Sword Techniques require at least one charge to execute. Try to be mindful of the best time to use Techniques in battle.
Can you respec Technique Points?
Note that there is no way to reallocate Technique Points once you have spent them to unlock Techniques. Because of this, it is important to know early on which skills will help you progress through the game more easily.
