[Grand Theft Auto V / GTA 5] Tips and Tricks: Keep the Pace

This article contains tips and tricks in winning in Keep the Pace Mode. This game mode is available in Grand Theft Auto V [GTA 5].

Tips and Tricks: Keep the Pace Mode

Keep the Pace Mode is a game mode in Grand Theft Auto V [GTA 5] that is more racing in nature. The player races around an obstacle-littered race course. In this course, it includes jumps, tubes, and a variety of obstacles that normally appear in the Stunt Races. However, there’s one catch: players must keep the car at a specific speed. Failure to comply causes the vehicle to explode, immediately eliminating the player out of the race.

The player must also deal with several events happening all throughout the course which may cause the car to spiral out of control. In Keep the Pace, there are four laps. The player who survives the four laps wins. If all players survive then, the first one to complete all four laps wins.

To win Keep the Pace, here are some tips and tricks:

Nudging Cars Out: Do It On The First Lap

Because the first lap is more forgiving, players can afford to nudge people off the edge or into a wall. This results to the first match often times catching fire most of the time. However, the trick to avoiding this is to easily gain speed boosts. As the player gains more speed, it’ll be easier for him/her to get away from the mess that’s happening on the first lap.

Hold one’s speed

The problem with immediately completing a lap is that the forgiveness level drops lower at each lap. If a player is still on the first lap and is racing with a person on the third lap, the person on the third lap has more to lose. For example, the first lap only needs 20 km/hr but the third lap needs 80 km/hr to prevent the player from blowing up. Thus, slowing down and cruising as long as one’s above the required pace is a good strategy to work with.

Be prepared to change tactics every time

As the speed minimum increases, so does one’s play style. Especially when taking corners, players often times find themselves victims to this especially since taking corners needs one to slow down. One way to do this is to take the curve as early as possible if one’s is doing it in a fast speed. Or, the person can speed up before pumping the brake button to gradually decrease the speed but not to the point of exploding.

Drive defensively

Driving defensively allows the player to keep the other aggressive players at bay. It can also cause their plans to backfire against them, eliminating another threat in the race.
