Tips and Tricks: Relay Mode

Relay Mode is a racing-type Adversary game mode in Grand Theft Auto V [GTA 5] that involve two teams. The mechanics of this game include players bursting from the starting line, navigating through obstacles before passing the baton to the next player. However, there are other mechanics such as penalties if the player starts off from the line too early. As the players curl through the track, the other players can also give tips and tricks on how to burst through the track easily.

However, there are times players don’t have proper teammates and need to become a PUG (Pick-Up Groupie) in order to play this mode. Here are some basic tricks that can help players work well with other players:

Use rear view mirror

Using the rear view mirror allows players to find out if their other team member is approaching. The thing with relay is that timing is key. If the player starts too early then, the player will be teleported back to the start. That kind of penalty can be detrimental to the team’s capacity to win.

Communication is key

Communication is this kind of game is key. Knowing how to take the curve, learning some tips and tricks in learning the track is helpful especially for newer players. Veteran players can help raise the skill level of newer players by giving them tips and tricks.

Use speed boosts

Using speed boosts will help players complete the lap faster. This involves using the bumpers to increase speed or riding some of the terrain such as tubes. This then will allow the changeover to become much faster.
