[Grand Theft Auto V / GTA 5] Tips and Tricks: Rhino Hunt

This article contains tips and tricks in winning in Rhino Hunt Mode. This game mode is available in Grand Theft Auto V [GTA 5].

Tips and Tricks: Rhino Hunt Mode

Rhino Hunt Mode divides players into two opposing teams. One team is designated as Rhinos, the other is the Hunters. The former man Rhino tanks and the latter can choose from various offroad vehicles, namely the BF Injection, Bifta or Dune Buggy. The objective of the Hunters is to destroy all Rhino tanks under three minutes while armed with only Sticky Bombs. If they fail to do so within the time specified, the Rhinos will win.

Hunters

Aim for the Rhino tanks rear

The rear is the Rhino Tank’s weak spot, so take the time to place your shots when you manage to get behind one.

Cut off the lights at night

You can make it harder for Rhinos to spot you if you cut off the lights when you are playing at night.

Maximize your advantages

Hunters have more areas accessible to them during the game, as well completely outnumbering the Rhinos. This means that Hunters have more freedom to set up and trap their enemies, use secnic routes to ambush them, or just attack from all directions to exploit the Rhino’s moment of panic and surprise.

Rhinos may also have trouble getting over certain obstacles or small structures, which may potentially get them stuck. You can use this to your advantage to make them easy targets if they have little room to move.

Kamikaze teammates

One member of the team can be loaded with sticky bombs to charge at a Rhino to do massive amounts of damage. You’ll need to time them so that they detonate all at once when they reach their target.

Rhinos

Avoid getting cornered

With very limited areas to move to, Rhinos are at a clear disadvantage when it comes to mobility. Be careful of dead ends as you will have very little room to avoid incoming damage.

You can run over enemies

Because of their size, Rhinos can try to run over hunters if they are somehow backed into a corner with no other way to escape.

Pair up with other Rhinos

Working with another Rhino to patrol the areas (or position yourselves side by side to cover each other’s rear) is a good tactic to improve your chances of surviving under three minutes. A lone Rhino will almost always be overwhelmed and eventually be driven into a corner and finished off  by the waves of respawning hunters.
