Tips and Tricks: Slasher Mode
Slasher Mode is a game mode in Grand Theft Auto V [GTA 5] that involve two teams: the Slasher and the Hunted. Both teams are then thrown into a dark area where they must search around for one another. The Slasher, armed with a shotgun, must track down the Hunted. Unfortunately, the Hunted does not have any other weapon other than physically beating the Slasher with a flashlight. But there’s a time element included. If the Hunted lasts longer than three minutes then, they soon gain new weapons to defeat the opposing team.
In order to win Slasher and keep one’s roles, here are some tips and tricks:
Hunted: Hello Darkness, My Old Friend
The name of this strategy is more for the Hunted. Instead of flailing the flashlight, the Hunted can rely on the vibrations on the control. Another trick to try is to focus on the map instead of relying on sight. Using the flashlight may give away one’s position to the opponent, ending in one’s demise.
Slasher: Distance is key
The Hunted, armed with only a flashlight, should pose no threat to the opponent who is armed with a shotgun. Using the distance to one’s advantage is key and essential for a Slasher in this mode. Especially since one is wandering around in the dark, the players have to take note if the Hunted may hit them with a melee attack instead.
Slasher: Backstab Strategy
The Backstab strategy requires the hunting player to abandon the shotgun. Instead, the Slasher can utilize the machete as a means for killing the Hunted. The machete provides a more stealthy approach. After all, the Hunted are expecting a shot in the head more than being backstabbed. This strategy also requires the player to utilize the dark as a means of cover.
Hunted: Burn as much time as you can
As the Hunted burns up time, players can gain more weapons to combat the opponent. Thus, players playing the Hunted should burn as much time as they can. In doing so, unlocks more weapons to defeat the opposing players. Once the players have more weapons, they can gather together to band up against the enemy.

There are a variety of maps in this particular mode. Some of these maps may have more obstacles than others, giving players unique experiences in Slasher Mode.
