Alola Dex Retained
Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon, like every other released Pokemon game, will cover version exclusives. As a game patterned after Sun and Moon, trailers revealed that Trainers will get a Dex upgrade. This boosts the amount of Pokemon in the Alola Pokemon Dex to be more than 400, which beats Sun and Moon’s number of just over 300.
However, even with the advent of an increased Dex count, not to mention a National Dex support, the version exclusives remain for the most part unchanged. Trainers of Ultra Sun and Moon should expect to receive, for the most part, the Alola Dex retained from the previous games.
The Pokemon that will be unique to each version will be comprised of the following: 2 Fossil Pokemon, 1 Primate Pokemon, 1 Flying type, 1 Grass Type, 1 Dragon Type, 1 Alolan Pokemon, and 2 Ultra Beasts.
Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings
Other Pokemon join the roster for version exclusives. Taking the place of the original Mascots: Solgaleo and Lunala are the Necrozma forms. Although it appears as new species, this is more of an increase in the Prism Pokemon’s dex entry.
Houndoom and Manectric

As announced in the trailer, the new Pokemon set to appear in Ultra Sun and Moon include: Mareep, Larvitar, Tropius, Zorua, and Larvesta. However, it only confirmed the two canines. As a result, trainers get to find Houndoom in the scorching Alolan heat for Ultra Sun, whereas Ultra Moon Trainers are sure to find Manectric nestled in the woods.
Ultra Beast Burst, and Ultra Beast Assembly

In the same vein as the above mentioned Pokemon are the Ultra Beasts. The head popping UB, codenamed BURST for Ultra Sun, will join the ranks of Buzzwole and Kartana. On the other hand, the towering UB codenamed ASSEMBLY will exert its pressure along with Pheromosa and Celesteela in Ultra Moon.
