Stat Change
Also known as rank correction, Stat Change refers to the rising and falling of stats clearly indicated by the game during the battle.
There are 13 stages ranging from -6 to +6 with seven stats: Hit Points, Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, Speed, Accuracy, and Evasion. The stats change only during the battle, returning to their original number at the end of the battle.
Stat Stage Modification
At the start of the battle, all stats start with their base stats. When an ability alters their stats, you will see the following messages:
When the Stat Rises
- +1
- “~ rose!”
- +2
- “~ rose sharply!”
- +3 or higher
- “~ rose drastically!”
When the Stat Declines
- -1
- “~ fell!”
- -2
- “~ harshly fell!”
- -3
- “~ severely fell!”
Stat Modification
The stage rises and falls due to moves and abilities.
The system multiplies the actual stat by the following magnification:
- The modification is applied to each stat according to the stage.
- The stage never becomes +7 or more, or -7 or more.
Stage | Modification Factor |
---|---|
+ 6 | × 4 |
+ 5 | × 7/2 |
+ 4 | × 3 |
+ 3 | × 5/2 |
+ 2 | × 2 |
+ 1 | × 1 |
± 0 (Base Value) | × 1 |
– 1 | × 2/3 |
– 2 | × 1/2 |
– 3 | × 2/5 |
– 4 | × 1/3 |
– 5 | × 2/7 |
-6 | × 1/4 |
Modifying Accuracy and Evasion
Stage | Modification Factor |
---|---|
+ 6 | × 4 |
+ 5 | × 7/2 |
+ 4 | × 3 |
+ 3 | × 5/2 |
+ 2 | × 2 |
+ 1 | × 1 |
± 0 (Base Value) | × 1 |
– 1 | × 2/3 |
– 2 | × 1/2 |
– 3 | × 2/5 |
– 4 | × 1/3 |
– 5 | × 2/7 |
-6 | × 1/4 |
Formula for Accuracy
Stage level of accuracy × Hit ratio of skill × compensation of characteristics and held items, etc.
Example: Accuracy when Scizor receives “Sand Attack” and “Minimize”
- If you give Scizor the held item “Wide Lens,” and it is struck by an enemy’s “Sand Attack,” its “Accuracy” stage becomes -1.
- At this time, if a Pokemon in the field uses “Minimize” once and its Evasion is 2, “Accuracy stage modification” becomes -1 + -2, with a total of -3.
- If Scizor uses “Bullet Punch” (hit 100) with a total modification of 3, the Accuracy of the stage 3 is × 1/2, so the accuracy is 100 × 1/2, so the hit rate is 50%.
- Afterwards, since the accuracy modification of “Wide Lens” will be applied, the actual hit ratio will be 55% at 5 × 1.1 with 1.1.
Formula for Evasion
- The stage modification of the Critical Hit rate is not independent of the stat change through Move, ability, or held item. It is calculated with + 3 for both +3 and above.
Stage | Modification Factor |
---|---|
+ 3 | Confirm |
+ 2 | × 1/2 |
+ 1 | × 1/6 |
± 0 (Base value) | × 1/12 |
Formula of the stage modification of the Critical Hit ratio
Added modification of the stage by Move + Added modification of stage due to ability + Added modification of the stage by held items
Stage | Type | Name |
---|---|---|
+ 1 | Move | Moves that can easily hit Pokemon(Such as “Slash”) |
Ability | Super Luck | |
Item | Dire Hit | |
Held Item | Scope Lens | |
Held Item | Razor Claw | |
+ 2 | Move | Focus Energy |
Item | Sun Fruit | |
Item | Stick | |
Item | Lucky Punch (Chansey Only) |
|
+ 3 | Move | Moves that deliver critical hits “Storm Throw” and “Frost Breath” |
