Guide on How to Defeat Belladonna
Belladonna is one of the bosses that you need to defeat in Trials of Mana. Belladonna is a tough demoness with feline features. The boss is encountered during their mission at Dark Castle.
Here is a breakdown of the boss’ strengths and weaknesses, stats, and skills.
|EXP Rewards||42,000 exp|
|Swipe||Belladonna’s regular attack which hits 3 times.|
|Headbutt||Red lines appear in the boss area. The boss goes through all the lines quickly and hits many times.|
|Drop Kick||Belladonna leaps and spins. While descending, Belladonna kicks nearby enemies 3 times.|
|Charge Up||Belladonna uses lightning on herself which causes her body to radiate a purple aura. She gains more power and speed while attacking.|
|Half Eclipse||One of Belladonna’s heavy attacks which robs half its enemy’s health.|
|Hexas||Another of Belladonna’s heavy attacks. Marks appear on the ground and a devil icon shows up above her. If the gauge remains intact, the boss warps to the middle and then morphs into a serpent-like creature causing havoc and putting enemies to sleep.|
|Roseslash||Belladonna leaps to the side and then lines start to appear that passes through each member. The boss channels a whirlwind of pink petals and sends them to the enemies causing some damage.|
|Shockwave||An area of effect shows up below Belladonna and then she unleashes a shockwave that causes damage and has a knock back effect.|
Here is a breakdown of the battle strategy against the boss.
Use Water or Earth elemental
Despite Belladonna’s dominating presence, she carries some weaknesses. Support magic such as Earth Saber come in handy for this fight especially when paired with offensive units like Duran, Riesz, or Kevin.
Get familiar with Belladonna’s Roseslash to prevent tremendous damage. The trick is to stay on one corner and then head to the opposite edge to dodge the attack. While you can’t rely on the AI to dodge it, you could possibly minimize the damage sustained if the team is spread out when the attack lands. Don’t forget to heal your allies afterward.
Stop Hexas before it connects
Like the benevodons, Belladonna can channel her own powerful skill if it connects. When you see a large area of effect appear on the field, quickly close in on the boss and whittle her down with attacks. You need to stop the gauge from filling to interrupt the attack. If left unchecked the effect can be detrimental to the party.
Watch your health
Keep your health above half. Many of Belladonna’s skills have a chance to wipe your team out if you let it fall too much.
