Boss Strategy

Here is a breakdown of the battle strategies against the boss.

Preparation

Make sure to unequip any light element weapons. Switch your gear to gain some resistance to light or dark elements. Now’s also the time to make use of equipment that are immune to status effects like those that prevent size reduction and those that block poison.

Dodge the specters

Tainted Soul’s most common attack is Ghostleader. You’ve come across this attack back in the fight against Gova. Be sure to move swiftly to prevent being pushed to the ground.

Avoid the red marked areas

Tainted Soul’s skills take time to appear after he marks the ground. When you see the red marks appear, immediately back away and then swiftly come up to the boss’ side or back and take turns punishing him with class strikes.

Stop Dark Summon

Like other bosses, Tainted Soul has a signature attack that takes some charge time. He’ll cast a force field around the area and calls for mobs which serve as vessels of energy. Channel all your attacks on the summoned enemies to quell the boss’ powerful attack. Approach the boss quickly and whittle him down with class strikes.
