Harcypete Strategies
Here is a breakdown of the battle strategies against the boss:
Setup your AI Battle Strategy
Target | Same Enemy |
---|---|
Tactics | Protection is Paramount |
Moves | Use moves without MP falling to 50% |
Class Strikes | Do not use class strikes |
Healing Items | Leave at least 5 of each items in stock |
Enchant Weapon with Earth Element
If you have access to Stone Saber or Mole Claw, enchant your melee characters’ weapon with Earth element to deal more damage to the boss. Elemental weapon enchants can be acquired from Item Seeds or through the Merchant Town Beiser’s Night Market.
Keep Moving
Harcypete can be tough to attack because she flies in the air. You’ll need to chase her around the boss area to nail those attacks. Similar to regular Harpy, the boss has regular swipe attacks. However, you need to keep moving to avoid one of Harcypete’s Air Rush and Cyclone +.
Dodge the Attacks
Harcypete carries many area of effect spells such as Air Rush. Bait for her to attack and then wait for them to subside before approaching and punishing her with your own attacks. Among the spells she uses, Cyclone + is linear which is fairly easy to dodge compared to her other abilities.
Break Blue Vases to Replenish CS Gauges
Apart from dealing damage, you can also build up your party’s CS gauges by breaking nearby blue vases. Just make sure that you will break only a sufficient amount of vases enough to fill-up the gauges.
Use Earth Elemental Magic
If you have Angela in your party, kite the boss from a distance using Diamond Shards. If you ran out of MP, consume a Faerie Walnut or switch to another party member.
Use Class Strikes to Prevent Supersonic
After reducing her health significantly, Harcypete starts to use Supersonic, an ability that takes some charge time. When the arena starts to glow red, close in quickly and whittle her down to interrupt the charge. If you do it right, not only will Harcypete stop charging but she will also stagger, giving you enough time to follow up with more attacks.

Best Parties | Best Classes | Best Equipment |
This boss was a BITCH. Best strat was to let the party distract her and die (they are stupid and won’t last long). You can revive them every once in a while when you need a break so you don’t have to keep dodging constantly and can get a breather. But they will just die again so don’t waste your efforts too much.
Your best bet is telegraphing and dodging her attacks. I also nudged down the difficulty slider a bit for this fight, not gonna lie. Because it was so unsatisfying. You can only hit her with air attacks and get maybe 2 or 3 attacks in before she starts another attack and you have to go on the defensive.
All her attacks can be dodged. Your best bet is to run around and then jump and dodge at the last second to get away because her reach extends a bit out of the red circle in most cases and she can still clip you if not careful, so you need that extra little speedy surge you get from jumping and dodging at the last second.
Anyway keep whittling away at her and you’ll get your victory.
