The Turks, Don Corneo, and a New Character
Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s latest trailer which premiered on September 12th confirmed more characters to appear in the awaited title. The video also included more story cutscenes of both new and familiar events.
Reno
The rod-wielding turk Reno was shown with Shinra troops at the slum’s church. Based on the trailer, he will be fought when met at this location, which is different from the original game.
Reno was seen striking his rod to the ground to unleash surges of electricity. It is quite a powerful attack, taking out nearly half of Cloud’s health.
Rude
Rude, the fist-fighting turk, was also encountered in the slums. He seems to be able to parry attacks in combat, as seen in the video.
Rude can also grab and swing his opponent before hurling them at their ally to damage both characters.
Tseng
The turks’ leader Tseng appeared in an unknown location, presumably at the 7th Heaven bar. As implied by his lines in the trailer, Tseng arrived to bring Aerith to Shinra headquarters.
Don Corneo
Don Corneo, the lecherous crime boss of Wall Market, was seen in what is likely the Honey Bee Inn. His appearance takes heavily after his design in the original game, although having more realistic features.
New Character – Unnamed Member of SOLDIER
A mysterious man who was not in the original game was shown pursuing AVALANCHE. As heard from Cloud, the unknown character is a member of SOLDIER, Shinra’s elite military force.
The character wore a dominantly black uniform. He had pauldrons on each shoulder, similar to those used by Cloud and other members of SOLDIER. He brandished what appeared to be a standard-issue SOLDIER sword. Its design is identical to those frequently seen in other Final Fantasy 7 games, particularly Crisis Core.
