Nero the Sable is a boss encountered in the Deepground during Chapter 2: Covert Ops of Final Fantasy VII Remake (FF7 Remake Intergrade) Episode INTERmission. A powerful member of Deepground ‘s Tsviets, Nero has been subjected to experiments that granted him the power to control the dark.

Nero the Sable Moves

Binding Talons Nero uses its mechanical wings to hold an enemy. If a character gets caught command the other party to attack Nero immediately.
Sweeping Darkness Nero uses its mechanical wings to do slash damage. Evade sideways in a timely manner. Get close to Nero to counter-attack
Pinion Pistols Nero leaps and hits the party from above. Evade or Guard to mitigate damage received.
Haste Nero will increase the speed of his movement and attacks. Be on guard at all times. Ready your heals as well.
Chthonic Surge Nero uses his dark magic directed at the player. Evade sideways in a timely manner and avoid getting near a corner.
Eldrich Celerity Nero ascends and unleashes dark magic from above. Evade sideways in a timely manner and avoid getting near a corner.
Disembowel Nero dives and attempts to target an enemy. Evade sideways in a timely manner and avoid getting near a corner.
Chaotic Pulsars Nero summons pillars of dark magic from the ground. Evade the target areas.
Spatial Shift Nero teleports from either above or bottom. Hit the boss from the distance.
Veil of Woe Nero covers himself to dark magic for additional resistance. Let the move expire before getting close

Nero the Sable Strategies

Below is a guide on how to beat the Nero the Sable, including recommenced party, equipment, skills, magic, Materia, and abilities to use against the boss:

First Phase (100% HP)

Start engaging the boss by throwing Yuffie’s Shurikens. While getting close, use melee attacks and combos.

In this phase, Nero has limited moves at his disposal. When he uses his Binding Talons, he will capture and bind Yuffie using its mechanic wings. Command your party member to drop Yuffie. Nero will use its Sweeping Darkness, a slash attack, if you are positioned in front of the boss. Evade sideways or use Guard to lessen the damage. The third move is Pinion Pistols which is a ranged attack. Just time your evasion to avoid getting hit.

At this stage just continue to harass Nero with your attacks until you pressure him. Not leaving room for him to use his moves.

Second Phase (75% HP)

Nero will use more attacks in particular his dark magic. His dark magic can be unleashed directly (Chthonic Surge), from above (Eldrich Celerity), or from the ground (Chaotic Pulsars). He will still use his mechanical wing attacks. What’s new is his Disembowel which is a dive attack.

Keep damaging the boss but don’t position yourself near the corners since it will limit your evasion. By this time, prep up your Ramuh summon.

Third Phase (50% HP)

Nero will use dark magic to protect himself. At this level, don’t spend too much time on melee attacks when it uses its Veil of Woe and Soul Erosion skills. Kite the boss using shuriken attacks until the moves are on cooldown.

Fourth Phase (25% HP)

Nero will cover the whole area under dark magic and will use AoE dark magic moves. His mechanical wings will be covered by dark magic and will become Abyssal Wings. Prioritize on eliminating the wings to limit the movement of Nero. Then, finish him off.
