Attacks

Surge

Crab Warden releases strong shock waves which travels along the rails. The waves cause heavy Lightning damage.

Missile

Crab Warden sends out missiles that target enemies on the field. Hide behind the objects around the boss area to avoid taking damage.

Strategy

First Phase

Combine the use of close-quarter attacks with the Lightning materia.

Stick to the boss’ limbs and focus on one of its front or rear legs. Crippling at most three of these causes Crab Warden to Stagger, which buys you some time to close in for follow-up attacks. Don’t forget to heal the ones on the frontlines especially if you’re using Barret at the back.

After taking out some of its limbs, you should be able to accumulate enough ATB charge in preparation for the next phase.

Eventually, the boss will make use of projectiles. Look around the map and take cover behind some of the boxes to weather the storm. In addition, watch out for its Surge which spreads shock waves. The safe spots are those in between the rails so make sure to remain on those while waiting for the waves to expire.

Second Phase

When the boss falls down, it’s generator will be exposed to attacks. Summon Ifrit and have him unleash Radiant Plume on the generator. Take care of the Slug-Rays that appear afterward.

Continue to attack the rest of its limbs to continue to the final phase.

Final Phase

Aim for the weapons and punish them with Lightning damage. As mentioned above, stay put in between the rails to avoid its Surge.

Make use of the ATB charge to gain some health back. You can also opt to use ranged damage.
