New Mysterious Character Melfi

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade will introduce the new character Melfi in the new story section titled Episode INTERmission. This additional content follows the adventures of Yuffie Kisaragi and Sonon Kusakabe on their mission to Midgar City to steal the “ultimate” Materia from the Shinra Electric Power Company.

Who is Melfi?

Melfie is a young woman connected to Sonon and Yuffie’s past. She was killed by the Shinra’s head of Weapons Development, Scarlet, presumably during the Wutai War.

Sonon witnessed Melfi’s death by one of Shinra’s war machines used by Scarlet. A flashback scene of Sonon and Melfi fighting against the evil Shinra Electric Power Company was also shown in the final trailer for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade.

It is heavily implied in the trailer that Melfi is Sonon’s sister, with her death being the cause of Sonon’s thirst for revenge and hatred towards Shinra. It is expected that more of Melfi’s backstory and her connection to Sonon and Yuffie will be revealed as players progress through the Episode INTERmission added content.

Scarlet

Scarlet will also make an appearance as a boss in the Episode INTERmission in Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade. Using the newly developed Shinra war machine called “Crimson Mare”, Scarlet goes into battle with Yuffie and Sonon as the pair infiltrate Shinra HQ.
