Leak Reveals 7.9 GB Day One Patch Size
Ghost of Tsushima’s Day One patch will be a somewhat hefty 7.9 GB, according to a recent leak posted on Twitter and first reported on Twisted Voxel. The tweet has since been taken down.
The much-awaited open-world title developed by Sucker Punch Productions recently released update 1.02 available for download, the second one before the game’s release next week on July 17th. Based on the leak, version 1.02 is just under 500 MB and will apply “various localization fixes.” This brings the combined file sizes of the two updates at launch to nearly 8 GB.
Ghost of Tsushima’s Day One patch file size is quite understandable as most open-world games require more polish after they have gone gold. This, meanwhile, is only the tip of the iceberg for those getting the digital version of the game which weighs in at 50 GB. Still, the wait would not be as long as with the digital version of a game like The Last of Us Part 2, which is at 80 GB. The sequel to Naughty Dog’s acclaimed action title is the largest in terms of game file size for any PS4-exclusive game to come out so far.
