Destiny 2 - Knucklehead Radar: Exotic Armor

The Knucklehead Radar helmet hails from the original Destiny game. This helmet is exclusively for Hunters of all subclasses.

Knucklehead Radar

Arguably the best helmet in game for its class, the knucklehead radar is a helmet that provides you a radar when you aim. You’d think this is mundane, but it actually helps a lot in the battlefield, providing you an awareness of who’s behind you as you shoot. This helmet can only be used by Hunters. However, it can be used by all hunter subclasses–gunslinger, arc strider, and nightstalker.  This helmet was also featured in the original Destiny.

The Knucklehead’s built in perk is its most distinctive feature in-game. With the Upgraded Sensor Pack, the helmet’s exotic intrinsic, you can now look at your radar while aiming down your sights. This feature is important because you need a lot of situational awareness–front and behind–when you’re fighting in incredibly deadly matches, like the Crucible, or Nightfall Strikes. This helmet also has other perks / mods: the first is Plasteel Reinforcement Mod. This increases resilience for your character. The next is the Restorative Mod, which increases Health Recovery.

How to Obtain

Note that this helmet is only available for hunters. Like an incredible number of other helmets, you can only find the knucklehead radar inside an exotic engram. You are at the tragic mercy of the RNG. However, farming exotic engrams will merit you more chances of obtaining this helmet. The game will reward you with engrams by completing story missions. Sadly, most of the time you will have to farm them.

We suggest three specific ways you can farm exotic engrams: Strike Missions, Public Events, and Crucible Matches.

Strike Missions–specifically, Nightfall Strikes–will reward you with a generous amount of loot. You will have to do a lot of work, however, because strikes are not an easy activity. Nightfall strikes are significantly harder, but will reward you for overcoming them generously. Meanwhile, Public Events also reward you with lots of loot, provided you’re at the right place and at the right time. Check out Titan and Nessus specifically because they have more frequent strikes. And finally, Crucible Matches wil provide you some good loot, provided you win. You should bring your friends in matches like these.
