Corneo Colosseum Battle Challenges Guide
Beastmaster Strategy
The first battle pits you against Beastmaster. Have the Fire and Ice materia ready. Beastmaster suffers from fire, while the Bloodhounds that accompany him don’t appreciate Ice. The Bloodhounds are more tricky since they can dodge magic. Take note of the flames that it emits. If you see red, channel Ice magic to put it out. If the color is purple, use Cure spell instead.
Luckily, if you make them Stagger or use spells that always connect you can close-in to dish out physical attacks. When it goes berserk, observe its attacks and use guard or perform some dodges.
Beck Strategy
The next encounter with Beck takes place here. Unlike the previous match, he’s joined by five more bandits. Employ the same trick of using Fire materia. When they use grenades, punish them with area of effect moves like Infinity’s End.
Cutter and Sweeper Strategy
Between the two, channel your attacks on Sweeper. Make use of Infinity’s End for heavy damage. Follow up with other heavy hits like Focused Thrust.
When you’re left to deal with Cutter, take aim at its appendages. Charge up and unleash Cloud’s Limit Break to finish it off.
Hell House Boss Strategy
First Phase
Bring Fire, Ice, Wind, and Lightning materia but don’t link these to the weapon.
Hell House resists physical attacks which means you have to rely on elementals. However, you need to assess its element before picking the attack to use. Charge the ATB until you can use Assess and use it as soon as possible.
Examine its type to find some colors.
Below is a summary of the colors and matching elements:
- Red for fire
- Green for wind
- Yellow for lightning
- Blue for ice
However, don’t use the color that you readily see. Instead opt to use the one it’s weak against.
The first time you’ll use Assess, you’ll likely find that it will be red. So channel as much Ice attacks to whittle it down. Have Aerith focus on healing Cloud. When the boss backs away, you’ll need to evade objects. When it tires out, it will return to the its original place.
Second Phase
After weakening Hell House, its resists to Physical attacks wears off, however it gains neutral resist to elements. Here, it starts to charge so make sure to have sufficient health on the party.
Damage over time occurs when it absorbs one of your party members. While you’re busy handling the boss, continue to heal the absorbed member to prevent their death.
If the boss aims at you, execute a dodge roll to kite it while you keep it busy. Eventually, it will tire out. After robbing its health further, it will casts a giant barrier.
Third Phase
When the boss’s shield expires, it will assume the next phase. Here, you’ll have to combine the tactics you used against the first two phases.
When the boss prepares to go airborne, it will propel projectiles. Execute dodge rolls to kite this attack similar to the previous phase.
Hell House cycles between its two forms. Use Assess to determine its type and use the element it’s weak against using the colors as clues. Continue to heal the party as you push on, and don’t charge in recklessly.
