A New Island in Alola?
In the image of the map in Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon, there is an interesting section being debated by fans around the world. This section is found at the lower left corner of the image, which is a cluster of clouds. At first glance, this may seem like a normal cluster of clouds, but what’s interesting about it is that it was never there for the Alola region map in Pokemon Sun and Moon. It also fascinating to note that at some parts of the cluster there is a little bit of land peeking through, suggesting that this may be a new island in Alola.

A Part of Kanto Region?
Some fans are suggesting that this new island in Alola is just a small section of the Kanto region, which fans are also speculating to appear in the game. This theory is backed up by an image featuring a gym that looks like Lt. Surge’s gym, which suggests that the protagonist will travel to a part of Kanto.
Battle Frontier?
Another possible purpose of the island is that it may serve as the Battle Frontier in the game. However, this is highly unlikely due to Sun and Moon already having the Battle Tree. But if ever this speculation is true, then we will expect more battle features to be added in the game.
A Story-Related Island?
Most fans are suggesting that this island is related to the revamped story of Ultra Sun and Moon. This new island in Alola is probably the setting for the grand battle against Necrozma. In contrast, this may also be not likely the case since there is already the Ultra Dimension.
While fans keep on speculating, Nintendo is still mum over the image of the map and its secrets. They may reveal it near the release of Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon which comes out on November 17, 2017.
