What’s new in Destiny 2?

Destiny 2 retains many of the old elements including the character classes and aesthetics. However, they added some classifications to certain weapons. Primary weapons now split into two different categories: Kinetic and Energy. Kinetic includes weapons with no elemental attribute. Whereas, Energy weapons include the three elements: Solar, Arc, and Void. Power Weapons however classify the old Destiny weapons such as Shotgun and the new type: Grenade Launcher.

Another feature they fixed and added are the armor stats. Instead of the usual MMO Stat names such as Strength, Intellect, and Discipline, it changes into Armor, Recovery, and Agility.

While the character classes remain, there are new sub-classes added to the game: Warlock, Hunter, and Titan.

  • Warlock – This character class will continue to access the Void Walker abilities but will soon have access to the Dawnblade’s skills. They focus on using Solar element as a means to attack their enemy.
  • Hunter – The new sub-class of the Gunslinger that replaces the Blade Dancer, the original sub class. Hunters use an electrified staff and have increased mobility.
  • Titan – The Titan job class appears to be a defense-based class. However, they are capable of using their shields as a means of offense similarly to how Captain America uses his shield. The Titan is the sub-class of the Sentinel and Striker.
