Battle Agency

In a nod to past games’ Battle Factory, a new facility called the Battle Agency can be found in Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon. The goal is to rack up wins by using teams of three to defeat NPCs in single battles.

Instead of renting three randomly generated Pokemon from an NPC, players can only select one out of the three choices. The remaining two Pokemon would come from whichever trainers you have recruited from the Festival Plaza. This means that by interacting with more trainers, you can expand the range of choices you have further.

Any activities done by the player in his or her Festival Plaza influences the roster of Pokemont usable in the Battle Agency. This means that if the player interacts with other players through Wi-Fi, he or she can unlock more Pokemon to use.

How to Unlock

To unlock the Battle Agency, you need to complete Sophocles’ trial in Ula’ula Island.

Grades and Configuration

Similar to in the Battle Factory, Players must perform well in the Battle Agency to unlock more difficult challenges. In the Battle Agency, Players can raise their grade to receive rewards. These include Rare Candy and a hefty amount of Festival Coins.

Weather Changes

Some weather conditions can be unlocked upon reaching at least grade 10. Check the list below for a summary of the possible weather conditions.

■ 21 to 30

■ 31 to 40

■ 41 or later

Battle Agency Rewards

The amount of FC you obtain can be summarized as:
- 200FC + (grade -1) x 15 FC
  ◌ Every time your grade rises you get a “Rare Candy.”

The grade cap is maxed out at 50.

Each milestone rewards the Player with a Rare Candy.

Your grade determines the level of both your rented Pokemon and your opponents’. For example, if you rank up from Grade 0 to Grade 1, you will be able to use level 51 Pokemon. Similarly, the opponent’s Pokemon will also be level 51.

The trick is to always refer to your current grade and adjust to it by selecting Pokemon that have the highest level your grade allows. Reaching the level 100 cap will unlock better rewards such as Gold Bottle Caps.

Recruit

After finishing a set in the Battle Agency, the roster you have available for your party will renew. Players need to choose teammates who are either present on the Festival Plaza’s wireless communication or registered as VIPs.

Check the Guest List to scout for the Trainers’ Grades and registered Pokemon that match your team’s needs. Generally, you will need to remain online for awhile in order to gather enough Pokemon.

How to participate

Select one of the three Pokemon.
Choose two partners. You can recruit preset trainers called Festival Fans if you do not have enough teammates. However, players who have teammates can select two from the Guest List when connected to the internet.
Start the battle.

Swap Rental Pokemon

You can shuffle the three Pokemon available on the monitor.

To shuffle Pokemon, you need to spend 10 Festival Coins

Boss Trainers

NOTE

Similar to the Battle Tree Legends, players can encounter Boss trainers such as one of the Trial Captains. These can be found upon reaching certain rounds in the Battle Agency. Defeat the boss to obtain a “Bottle Cap.”
