All Phantoms are not wholly alien. They are created by weavers using human remains. Phantoms have been known to exhibit human-like neural patterns at times. They may attempt to reproduce human phrases, but don’t retain comprehension.

In close-quarters, a thermal phantom’s melee attacks are deadly. However, it is the enhanced superthermal attack that the player should worry about, as this can quickly whittle away at your health.

Appearance

This species of typhon anthrophantasmus is first seen inside the trauma center, wandering around alongside a normal phantom.

Strategy

When not engaged in combat, phantoms prowl and shamble through the hallways and foyers of TALOS-I. However, these shambling humanoids will mercilessly pursue you should they take notice. Blinking around, they can quickly catch up to you to deal melee damage.

Using a shotgun against this thing is only recommended when you use it together with the GLOO cannon. Each shotgun blast will only take an insubstantial amount of this phantom’s health alone.

Using turrets can be a boon when facing this monster, as the added firepower allows you to take down your enemy easier. However, as with normal phantoms, it is not beneficial to just let your turrets do the main work. Make sure your turrets are heavily reinforced or they will often die in one hit.

Make sure to make use of nullwave transmitters to prevent the thermal phantom from firing off its superthermal ability.
