Joro-Gumo Boss Guide
Joro-Gumo is a large spider boss who you fight in a dojo. As a big enemy and a spider at that, Joro-Gumo transforms and attacks you in its gargantuan spider form. It spews webs and attacks you with its many legs. Because being a spider gives it a speed, make sure you have the right armour and weapons to fight it.
After the cutscene, Joro-Gumo will lunge out to attack you. She also has a pair of fangs that can rip out a chunk of your life force if you’re not careful.
Watch out for her when she arches her back. When she does, she’ll spew webs at you. Dodge and wind around at the back where you can attack her behind instead of the front. Staying in front will allow her to land a majority of her attacks and waste big amounts of your Ki.
She also tends to body slam and swings her butt around to knock you back. Keep your distance as she does so in order to prevent taking too much damage.
When you damage her enough, she’ll also begin to tear open portals into the Yokai Realm. This is why guarding against her isn’t advisable. The Yokai Realms can eat up your Ki and leave you defenseless against her. Keep moving around her and attacking her blind spots in order to keep ahead. One of the more recommended weapons are anything that can easily and quickly deal damage. Weapons such as the Dual Katana, the Katana, and the Spear are good for this kind of battle.
You can also use caltrops to damage her while trying to gain your Ki back. Keep rotating around her and evade her attacks to inflict more damage. After you finish kiting her, defeating her won’t be a problem.
When you finish her off, you’ll find yourself in another cutscene.
